Ricci Institutes in the world

Since the year of its founding, Ricci Institute in Paris has studied, beside Chinese spirituality, scientific texts of philosophy, medicine and many others documents of Chinese culture.

After the publication of the Great Dictionary Ricci's classical Chinese language, the Association is responsible of the compilation of new thematic dictionaries of classical Chinese language and of an edition of the Great Dictionary in multimedia version.

Named after the great Italian sinologist, Matteo Ricci, the Ricci Institute was founded in 1966 by the Chinese Province of the Society of Jesus. The purpose of the Institute is the study of important topics in Chinese culture, both ancient and modern. In the first 40 years of its existence the Institute placed special emphasis on Chinese lexicography, religions and society.

The Macau Ricci Institute is a nonprofit, study and research institution dedicated to fostering better mutual understanding between China and the world community. Offering a unique blend of cultural, professional, and research programs, the purpose and method of the Macau Ricci Institute are best summed up in its links with the city of Macau, the person of Matteo Ricci, the Society of Jesus, and the peoples of China.

The USF Ricci Institute for Chinese-Western Cultural History at the Center for thePacific Rim, College of Arts and Sciences, is a premier global resource for the study of Chinese-Western cultural exchange with a core focus on the social and cultural history of Christianity in China.

The Matteo Ricci Institute is a nonprofit research center. The Institute is the expression of an association made up of the following private and public organizations: Macerata Municipality, Macerata Province, Macerata University, Macerata Diocese, Marche Region. For particular events (e.g. "Macerata 2010"), the Matteo Ricci Institute is supported by the Carima Foundation and Macerata Chamber of Commerce.

Objectives:

1] To improve and to promote the historical memory of the figure of Matteo Ricci and his work, as well as those of the other orientalists the Marche has offered, as late as Antelmo Severini and Giuseppe Tucci.

2] To participate in intercultural dialogues between East and West, with both the cultural realities of the countries in the Far East, China and India, in particular, and the current communities in these territories.

3] To offer information and assist commercial activities between the Marche and the East, particularly with China.

4] To work for and facilitate partners' programs and projects concerning the East.

Located at the Beijing Administrative College of Beijing, the Institute collaborates to the promotion of the pilgrimage to Matteo Ricci grave and to the divulgation of the cultural exchange between China and the West.
