Matteo Ricci. Son of the West, brother of the East.

The competition Matteo Ricci. Son of the West, brother of the East , takes its place among the activities of   Matteo Ricci Institute for Relations of the East on behalf of all the subjects involved in the National Committee (which is going to be established) that is composed by Marche Region, the City, the Province, the Diocese, the Chamber of Commerce and the University of Macerata.

This year (2009/2010) the competition is arrived to the third edition and for the first time it is addressed to all the Italian schools of every grade.   The competition is divided in four sections: primary schools (excluded in 2007/08), secondary schools, two year period and three year period high schools.   Each section is composed by two different areas: the first one - artistic-theatre- in which are included draws, comics, songs and recitals; the second one - narrative-literary- contains short-stories, poems and dialogues. The aim of the competition is to divulgate among students the importance of the work of Father Matteo Ricci, making them closer to the subject of relations between different cultures.  

In the end of the competition best works are going to increase their values through:

1. the realization of an educational tool addressed to schools made by winning works.
2. a possible exhibition (not sure) of all winning works located in the rooms near the Matteo Ricci Museum that will be open in Macerata.
